New Additions to the TBR

From no luck to all of the luck, two new Goodreads First Reads books are heading towards my house! Both look amazing! In Shrouds of Darkness: The Esaeric Knights by RL Barrett is a fantasy involving knights and rare powers. This kind of book is in the majority in my home library. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

The second book is a sequel in the series. The first book, Slayers by CJ Hill, I ordered from the library as soon as I found out I’d won. This one, Slayers: Friends and Traitors has a cover change from the first book. Cover changes are irritating! However, the books look great. Both are about teenagers who train to be dragon slayers as the dragons in this world and fierce and intelligent.

I also signed up to win a couple of ebooks from LibraryThing’s Member Giveaways!

The first, Blood of Kings by Billy Wong borrows some of its lore from Arthurian legend. However some of its concepts may not be keeping with the standard ideas of chivalry and knighthood. Still, I’m intrigued. I like books that have something to do with King Arthur in one way or another. These stories always change, that’s why they’re legends. Nothing wrong with a little originality.
The second book is the second edition of The Hall of the Wood by Scott Marlowe. The cover  art looks fantastically creepy! Look at it. It’s beautiful, in a spooky sort of way. All I know about this book is from the short synopsis on Amazon. It appears that patrols have gone missing in the Simarron Woods. There’s a sorcerer, goblins, and a knight errant.
Both of these ebooks will be loaded onto my computer and iPhone for on-the-go reading. I’m stoked. So, that’s it for now. I’ll be out book shopping today so I may be putting up a book haul soon. Until then…
Happy Reading!
