Review: Oh. My. God. I can’t even with this series. The Throne of Glass books give me feels like no other has. I’ve put off reading this book for a couple of months for a few reasons. I had a lot of ARCs to get through, and I had to get myself emotionally ready for it. But once I had the time I knew  I had to tackle this monster. And boy is it a monster.

This book introduces several new characters and new point of views. I have to say I loved all of the new characters. Rowan in particular grabbed my heart from the beginning. There are so many guys to love in this series and he’s starting to give Chaol a run for my heart. It was also cool to see the points of view of characters from all different sides: good, bad, and neutral. The series is really starting to ramp up for a big, crazy resolution.

As far as Celaena goes, I was glad to see a lot more from her emotionally. She’s in a rough spot after everything that has happened to her in the previous books. Some authors would not take the time and care to deal with all of that like Maas did. I’ve read a lot of books where the MC doesn’t seem to feel the pain and loss like they should because the plot wants them to move faster. Here we got to feel what Celaena felt and learn more about what has made her who she is.

Maas had a lot tackle in this book and took it in stride. Each book in the series gets better and better and I’m eager to see what she will do next September in book 4. If it’s anything like the emotions in this book then it’ll be another 5 nut book.
