Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Book Related Problems I Have

February 17, 2015     erinbook     Uncategorized

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish. This week is Ten Book Related Problems I Have. Oh boy, this is going to be bad. 🙂

1. Impulse buying. Once I see a pretty cover or an intriguing synopsis for a book on Book Outlet I’m lost. That site is my kryptonite.

2. Cover insanity. I’m a little OCD about my covers. I need them to match, and also be all in the same format.

3. Format problems. Why can’t books be all the same height? I would rather have a non matching cover in matching formats than the weird look of the format differences.

4. Getting lost. I know I shouldn’t start a good book at 7:00 because I won’t be able to stop until I finish. By that time it might be 1 in the morning and I’m going to hate my life in the morning.

5. Water, water, everywhere. I own hundreds of books but sometimes I feel like I don’t have a thing to read.

6. Lending anxiety. I do lend my books to a select group of trusted folks. Even though I do trust them, I get a bit of separation anxiety when parted from my beloved books.

7. Mail call. I get a lot of books in the mail through trades, publishers, or my buying habits. Sometimes I get a little over excited and sit by the window waiting for my slightly annoyed mail carrier or UPS man. I think they’re tired of me. 🙂

8. Double-stacked cases. I have 17 bookcases but even that is not enough space to hold my collection. I need to ditch the 4 shelvers and get bigger cases.

9. A never-ending TBR. *cough 1,000+ books on my goodreads TBR. Help.

10. Clearing shelves. So I decide to clear out a bunch of books, now what do I do with them? Trade? Sell? Donate? Cry?

  1. Oh, I love it! And yes, I too have over 1,000 books in my Goodreads TBR. And it may not have everything I actually have in my TBR entered!

As for #7, I confess I kind of time out my day by deliveries. They usually come around lunchtime so I know my day is halfway over. If they're late… I think the mail and UPS in particular are pretty sick of me all things considered.

  2. Double-stacked bookcases–yep, that's me. 🙂 I can relate to many on your list, to be honest. Why does it have to be so hard to choose the next book to read when we have so many to choose from? Ugh.
