Disney Book Tag

This tag was created by the wonderful Kat from the Katytastic youtube channel. I’ve watched Kat for a while and I’ve had this tag on the back burner for a while but I figured now it was time to do it. I’ve been a big Disney fan for years and one of my first solid memories was seeing a Disney movie in theaters for the first time. So when I saw a Disney tag I absolutely was going to do it.

Let’s begin!

The Little Mermaid – a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”

The MC of THE BLUE SWORD is pulled into a world she never would have expected and has to train and learn to be one of them. She learns a whole new language, new customs, and fights. By the end she definitely fits in a little better but at the beginning she’s way out of her element.

Cinderella – a character who goes through a major transformation

The main character of this books makes a huge transformation from who she was at the beginning til the end. She goes from pampered princess to hardened queen and it is a glorious result.

Snow White – a book with an eclectic cast of characters

Bro, you want characters, George RR Martin will give you characters. ALL the character. TOO MANY characters. Good luck keeping track of them all, it’s a good thing so many die or I’d never keep them all straight. Martin’s characters are many and varied so its very easy to find one or twelve to love before he kills them off.

Sleeping Beauty – a book that put you to sleep

I can’t. This book was incredibly boring and that’s all I’m going to say about that.

The Lion King – a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood

Um like every character?

Luke’s entire childhood is one long traumatic event. His very existence is illegal.

Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful

When Goblet of Fire came out I was young enough that I still found books this size intimidating. These days I love a good, hefty book and am no longer intimidated by size.

Aladdin – a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

Mare didn’t want to be drafted, welp, good luck with that girl.

Mulan – a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not

Ok, yes, this is a Mulan retelling so maybe that’s cheating but I’m going with it.

Toy Story – a book with characters you wish would come to life

Can I have a real life Darkling please? Maybe a mini one I can keep in my pocket?

Disney Descendants – your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character

I would normally go with the Darkling here but I suppose that’s a bit overdone. I guess I’ll go with something uncommon.

I won’t spoil this for you but the villain in this book is crazy awesome. And a little bit crazy crazy. I love this book for this villain as well as other great reasons and I only hope THE KNOWING is just as good.
