Both are pretty good. PP is adult steampunk so there's more sexiness to it and such. E&E is a YA prequel. I would probably read The Finishing School series first if you're a bit confused about steampunk. Really, it's an alternate history where there's steam powered technology in a victorian setting. Like a sci-fi/historical mashup.

I have this on my TBR to read this month from NetGalley and to be honest I've been hesitant on picking it up. Why? Because I know nothing about the steampunk genre, and the genre itself kind of confuses me. Would you recommend starting with this trilogy or the Parasol Protectorate series?
