King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo- Cover Talk

Though as far as I know the cover reveal wasn’t slated until about 2 hours from now, Amazon apparently didn’t get the message and released the following cover on their website.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the cover for KING OF SCARS, book one in a duology featuring our favorite GrishaVerse king.

I. Am. In. Love.

The gold. The slash marks (reminiscent of a Wolverine style attack). The sheer beauty of the detail. It’s a straight up piece of art.

Though at first I was reminded of Anna Bank’s ALLY cover (same publisher, I might add), this book has much more effort and detail put into it. IT looks like actual gold leaf over a relief or other form of art. I see the Grisha capital in one corner, a ship (SIEGE AND STORM fans will remember what that means), some roses, and most interestingly a dragon in the top right.

Dragons? I’m all for dragons.

If this cover is any reflection of the content I’m predicting one hell of a story in this first installment. *grabby hands*

What do you think of the cover? Share in the comments.

From my shelf to yours,

Erin

  1. OMG! Thank you so much for sharing this. I can’t believe it’s up early. This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. I cannot wait to read this.
