Welcome to our stop on the DRAGONS LOVE TACOS BLOG TOUR! We’re super excited to be part of this tour, seeing as how we love tacos just as much as dragons do! This is also our first time participating in a picture book blog tour, and we absolutely loved DRAGONS LOVE TACOS. Be sure to check out the giveway and the pre-order incentive too!
Today we’re going to share our favorite recipe for Taco Soup, which we think any dragon would be happy to eat (provided you remove some of the spicy ingredients! because DRAGONS DO NOT LIKE SPICY THINGS!). It’s a fantastic slow-cooker recipe that you can just throw in the night before and have ready for you when you get home the next day!
From GetCrocked :
Ingredients :
- 1 lb. lean ground beef, browned and drained
- 2 pkgs. taco seasoning mix
- 16 oz. tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
- 16 oz. kidney beans or black beans, canned, undrained
- 16 oz. corn, canned, undrained
- 1 can black olives, chopped or sliced
- 1 onion, medium, chopped
- 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
- 4 tomatillos (optional), choppedTo Prepare : Place everything in the slow cooker. Add water if necessary, to fill. (We use water!). Stir well. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until flavours are nicely blended.
To Serve : Top each bowl with a handful of cheddar cheese, with some tortilla chips and salsa on the side if you like. (We crumble our chips up IN our soup! Delicious!). Try some guacamole too!
DRAGONS LOVE TACOS :
Dragons love tacos. They love chicken tacos, beef tacos, great big tacos, and teeny tiny tacos. So if you want to lure a bunch of dragons to your party, you should definitely serve tacos. Buckets and buckets of tacos. Unfortunately, where there are tacos, there is also salsa. And if a dragon accidentally eats spicy salsa… oh, boy. You’re in red-hot trouble.
