I listen to the new Beauty and the Beast soundtrack obsessively while I blog and it’s been a while since I’d done a tag so I said to myself, self let’s go find a tag to do. So here it is, the Beauty and the Beast tag Found here. With a few additions for the new songs in the film.
“Oh what a guy, Gaston!” A villain you can’t help but love-
The Darkling of course! Who else? He’s my precious evil baby. He’s complicated and I keep looking at Darkling candles at every bookish candle shop I see. I really need one.
“Here’s where she meets Prince Charming” Your OTP-
Elissa and Hector! Or Celaena and Rowan. I dunno, I can’t pick. Let them fight it out. Who do you think would win? Probably Celaena and Rowan, come on.
“I want so much more than this provincial life” A character destined for greater things. –
Um all of them? That’s kind of the theme for most fantasy books. I guess I’ll go with Alina from Bardugo’s Grisha books, since I already gave the Darkling his moment.
“Be our guest!” A book that made you hungry.-
Any book that has description of food makes me hungry. I guess The Selection books have a lot of food in them. Most dystopians spend a lot of time talking about food which, for a foodie, is both a good and a bad thing.
“Beauty and the Beast” Opposites attract.
ALINA AND THE DARKLING! Literal opposites, light and darkness. I don’t care what anyone says, Alina and Darkling FOREVER. Screw you Mal, no one likes you!
“But there’s something in him that I simply didn’t see” A character who is more than they appear-
Snape from Harry Potter. He looks like a baddy the entire series but he’s got a deep backstory and a light side too. The bravest man I ever knew…
“I was innocent and certain, now I’m wiser but unsure” A book that changed you in some way-
My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
“Kill the Beast!” A book you picked up because of hype. –
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, and now it’s one of my favorite books of all time!
“I’ll never shake away the pain” A book or moment that always makes you cry-
The end of Mirror King by Jodi Meadows. OMG the sobs.
“How does a moment last forever” A book that you’ve loved since you were little.-
Susan Cooper’s Dark is Rising Sequence. I wanna go back and read it again soon. My old set is falling apart from all the rereads so I bought myself a new bindup of all 5 books.
Feel free to take the tag for yourself, and link me to it in the comments!
From my shelf to yours,
Erin
